ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., Aug. 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) today announced the winners of its second-annual Northrop Grumman Engineering Scholars program, which awards two $10,000 college scholarships to local high school students interested in pursuing an engineering career.

Ann Elise DeBelina, a graduate of St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, and Richard Lange, a graduate of Palatine High School in Palatine, each received merit-based scholarships for their outstanding academic and community activities during an awards reception hosted at Northrop Grumman's Rolling Meadows facility on July 31. DeBelina will be attending Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., this fall to study chemical engineering, and Lange will pursue studies of aerospace engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.

"Through this scholarship program, we are pleased to be able to help students who are interested in engineering careers to pursue their dreams."
To be eligible for the Engineering Scholars program, applicants had to be a resident of Rolling Meadows and a graduating senior in the spring of 2006 from a public or accredited private high school with minimum GPA of 3.5 (grades 9-12). Candidates must attend an accredited college or university as a full-time student in an approved engineering program. The funds may be used for tuition, books, lodging and meals.
