ATLANTA, Aug. 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Delta Air Lines today reported traffic results for July 2006(1,2). System traffic for July 2006 decreased 0.6 percent from July 2005 with a capacity decrease of 2.1 percent. Delta's system load factor was 85.4 percent in July 2006, up 1.3 points from the same period last year. This month's results represent the company's highest system load factor achieved in any month, exceeding the previous high of 84.5 percent in June 2006.
Domestic traffic in July 2006 decreased 10.6 percent year over year, and capacity decreased 12.6 percent. Domestic load factor in July 2006 was 85.7 percent, up 2.0 points from the same period a year ago. International traffic in July 2006 increased 31.3 percent year over year on a 31.8 percent increase in capacity. International load factor was 84.9 percent, down 0.3 points from July 2005.
During July 2006, Delta operated its schedule at a 98.4 percent completion rate compared to 96.6 percent in July 2005. Delta boarded 10 million passengers during the month of July 2006, a decrease of 10.6 percent from July 2005. Detailed traffic and capacity are attached.
