Scottsdale's iMemories to Host Metro Phoenix' First Annual 'Home Movie Day' at its Digital Studio: Public Invited to Free Event

All-Day Event Saturday, August 12th is Part of Worldwide Celebration of Amateur Films and Filmmaking


SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- iMemories today announced that it will be commemorating the worldwide "Home Movie Day" celebration by hosting the event locally at its Scottsdale-based studio. The planned festivities mark the first time ever that metro Phoenix will host this event, which was started in 2003 by a group of film archivists who were concerned about the preservation of home movies shot on film during the 20th century.

 When:   Saturday, August 12, 2006  10:00 a.m. -- 6:00 p.m.
 
 What:   Visitors to the studio will be able to engage in a variety of
         activities designed to enlighten and entertain, including:

         -- Watching their own home movies on professional 16mm, 8mm
            and Super 8 projectors in a special "home theater"
            screening area
         -- Getting their home movie film cleaned and inspected
         -- Talking to iMemories' on-site experts in film archiving,
            preservation & editing
         -- Learning the benefits of digitally mastering home movie
            film
         -- Refreshments will be served
