California Software to Release New Version of infinite NET Suite August 15

BELFAST, Northern Ireland, Aug. 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- California Software Corporation (Pink Sheets:CSWX), a leader in legacy extension, business intelligence and loan production software for banks, credit unions and consumer lending institutions and developer of the award-winning infinite and LPS product lines, announced today that it will release a greatly expanded version of its popular infinite NET Midrange and Mainframe Modernization Suite.

"Version 4, our latest offering in the Midrange Modernization tools arena, provides a plethora of new features such as a more enhanced SOA implementation and a new and very sophisticated SDK that allows users to integrate their legacy applications with object-oriented programs and to further build on those legacy applications using C#," stated Lynette Kane, Vice President, Support and Development, California Software.

Carol Conway, California Software's President said, "SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) expresses a perspective of software architecture that defines the use of services to support the requirements of software users. In a SOA environment resources on a network are made available as independent services that can be accessed without knowledge of their underlying platform implementation."

Conway further stated, "infinite NET SOA implementation is based on the Web services standard that has gained broad industry acceptance. This Web service provides greater interoperability. The infinite NET approach is based on wizards. These wizards are Method definition wizards which is a simplified method of defining web service method logic. Web Service definition wizards allow the user to pick from a collection of available user defined methods and optionally add primitive methods and a complete Net C# web service project will be generated."

The latest version of infinite NET will provide industry-leading developer tools and infrastructure for Web-to-host and Windows-to-host access to iSeries back-office applications. infinite NET suite is based upon green screen recognition so it requires no changes to the host application and as a result there is no risk of disrupting core business operations. The recognition components are called Agents, and their behaviour can be controlled with infinite Studio Agents configuration panels, allowing the user to select, change and add recognition rules.

SDK 5250 comes to open infinite Net engine power to C# developers, based on KISS concept, allowing interaction with any 5250 compliant hosts with a few lines of code.

Other new features included in the latest version of infinite NET are dynamic visibility of fields, screen resizing, printing to PDF and calendars from a thin client as well as the ability to receive a return value from an external assembly call. Improved error reporting provides additional information and helps California Software infinite NET products to diagnose problems in the software and provides feedback for delivering solutions.

The new version of the infinite NET suite product will be available as a free download on the soon-to-be launched www.infinitenetsuite.com beginning August 15 along with an information-packed newsletter called SOA News, also available on August 15.
