From Bunker Hill to Williamsburg: Delta Provides Convenient New Service for Business Travelers, History Buffs

Special introductory fares offered for new nonstop service between Boston and Newport News, Va.


BOSTON, Aug. 11, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- New nonstop service from Delta Air Lines will make it easier for customers to conduct business and take in American history the same day with new flights between Boston and Newport News/Williamsburg, Va. Beginning Nov. 15, customers can step back in time at the only remaining antebellum plantation on the lower Virginia peninsula or run through the North End shouting "The British are coming" with two daily nonstop flights operated by Delta Connection carrier Comair.

"As we continue to expand our domestic footprint, Delta is pleased to connect two important business markets with convenient nonstop service starting this fall," said Bob Cortelyou, Delta's vice president - Network Planning. "With this service, customers in Boston will enjoy 98 peak-day flights to 29 destinations in the United States and the Bahamas. The point-to-point flight also marks the 10th daily departure for customers in Hampton Roads and the surrounding area."

Delta's new flights between Boston and Newport News/Williamsburg will be operated using 50-seat regional jets. These quiet, comfortable aircraft feature a seating configuration where every seat is a window or an aisle, with no middle seats.
