About the Author
Anika-Tene' is the youngest child of Pastor A. Lorenzo and DeLoris McKinney. She has received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Howard University. Anika then taught for several years for Montgomery County Public Schools. She then went on to pursue an M.A. in Theatre Education from New York University. After teaching for two more years she began developing her artistic career through music. In order to strengthen her vocal skills, she decided to complete her M.M. in Music Education (with a focus on vocal coaching) from Howard University. Presently she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Speech and Theater Education at the University of Maryland. Anika-Tene' has a sincere passion for the arts. In addition to her current publication, she writes and records inspirational jazz. Most importantly she views the arts as a vehicle to share God's message with the world. Her pursuit of education and professional training in the arts is fueled by her desire to give God's message to the world through professional creative expression. It is her hope that this poetic devotional will be another vehicle by which her creative ability can be used to share God's message with the world.
