MASERGY Honored Twice for Leadership Among North Texas Technology Businesses at 6th Annual Tech Titans/Titan Fast 50 Awards Gala

Telecom Executive Barry D. Nalls and Plano-Based MASERGY Presented With 2006 Tech Titans Emerging Company CEO Award and Horizon Award

DALLAS, Aug. 23, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- MASERGY, a global service provider specializing in simplifying business networks for enterprises, received two leadership awards from The Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC), the largest technology trade organization in Texas, at the Sixth Annual Tech Titans/Titan Fast 50 Awards gala and ceremony held Friday, Aug. 18 at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas.

The MTBC celebration recognized outstanding information technology companies and individuals in North Texas who have made contributions locally during the past year as well as to the technology industry overall.

MASERGY took top honors in both award categories where it was named a 2006 finalist:

-- The Tech Titans Emerging Company CEO Award presented to
Barry D. Nalls recognizes CEO leadership for an emerging company
within the technology and communications industry.

-- The Tech Titans Emerging Company Horizon Award presented
to MASERGY recognizes outstanding innovation and unique
    accomplishments through potential breakthrough technology,
processes or services within the technology and communications
    industry.

"MASERGY represents the true spirit of innovation in our community," said Anu Venkitaraman, MTBC Co-Chair of the 2006 Tech Titans/Fast 50 Awards. "MASERGY and Barry demonstrate this innovation, not just in their unique technology for on-demand networks, but also in their complete focus on the customer and customer needs, thus laying the ground for long-term growth and success."

Under Nalls' leadership, MASERGY achieved double-digit revenue growth for the past 18 quarters. MASERGY generated annual revenue of nearly $50 million for FY2006, which ended June 30, representing an 86-percent increase over FY2005. The company attributes this rapid growth to innovation, leadership and demonstrated performance in delivering next-generation network services valued by enterprises.

Founded in 1999, MASERGY has grown quickly and strategically to serve hundreds of enterprise and Global 1000 customers in more than 40 countries across six continents, maintaining one of the lowest annual "customer churn" rates in the industry.

"The MASERGY team is especially honored to receive the Tech Titans Emerging Company Horizon Award because of the diversity and strength of the Dallas-Fort Worth technology environment," said Nalls. "I am thrilled to see our team's hard work and commitment reflected in this recognition by our peers. We all benefit from the MTBC's continuing commitment to recognizing companies for innovative and groundbreaking achievements, and MASERGY is proud to be included for our contribution within and beyond the local technology community."

"On a personal note, I am humbled and gratified to be selected for the Emerging Company CEO Award," added Nalls. "This recognition re-affirms my strong belief that a team of people heavily focused on meeting the needs of customers while addressing the needs of employees, investors and the community create the foundation of a truly successful business."

In May, MASERGY was named the fastest-growing private company in Collin County among the Inside Collin County Business Comerica Collin 60, an annual ranking of businesses based in North Texas. The same month, MASERGY achieved profitability in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA).
