Hlavacek was elected to its Board of Directors at the August 18, 2006, regular quarterly Board meeting. Mr. Hlavacek is the chairman, CEO, and owner of the Corporate Development Institute, Inc., which provides management development and consulting to industrial manufacturers and conducts public and in-house workshops on profitable growth for industrial firms.
Mr. Hlavacek has more than 30 years of industrial experience as an internationally recognized industrial educator, businessman, and strategy consultant. He has authored five industrial marketing books, including being the co-author of the best selling book, Market Driven Management. His most recent book, Profitable Top-Line Growth for Industrial Companies, was published in 2002.
Mr. Hlavacek was editor-in-chief for 20 years of Industrial Marketing Management, the leading international journal of industrial marketing. He also is a past vice president and director of the American Marketing Association, and was the head of the marketing department of Case Western Reserve University for many years.
Mr. Hlavacek received a PhD in industrial marketing from the University of Illinois. Mr. Hlavacek also serves on the board of directors of Nucor Steel.
