The Third Apostle -- New Fiction Sheds Light on the Life of Jesus Through Ancient Scrolls

SANDESTIN, Fla., Aug. 24, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- If you like stories mixed with religious controversies concerning theories about Jesus' role in history, then you'll surely love this amazing new thriller by author John W. Yarbro. Embark on an exciting journey with Professor Calwood, an archaeologist, as he explores clues that threaten the very foundations of the Vatican's teachings about Jesus in the intriguing book The Third Apostle.

In this story, Professor Batchelor Calwood leaves his university campus torn by the riots of Vietnamese protesters, to look for scrolls rumored to be in an ancient library buried near Guiza in Israel. The Third Apostle takes place at a time when terrorists threaten to take Israel into war with her neighbors. When Calwood's archaeological discoveries are found to shed new light about the origins of Christianity, the Vatican is alarmed. As if the professor didn't already have enough to deal with, his accidental involvement with terrorists puts his life at risk on the eve of the six day war between Israel and her neighbors.

This book is an interesting blend of religious themes, suspense and fiction. It uses exact quotations from the Bible in new and surprising ways that will have the readers turning to their own Bibles to check what is said. Readers of current fiction will find this an excellent addition to their collection. Those who like religious themes, especially those interested in theories about the role Jesus played in history will find this a fascinating read. Some will call this controversial although it is clearly a fiction meant to be enjoyed by all.
