Fuel Systems Solutions Announces Board Appointment

SANTA ANA, Calif., Aug. 28, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:FSYS) today announced the appointment of Aldo Zanvercelli as an independent director to its board, increasing the board to seven members.

Zanvercelli (67) recently established Intesis S.r.l., a consulting practice based in Turin, Italy, focused on developing and applying technologies to enhance corporate organizational systems. His professional career includes more than 30 years with FIAT's aviation division, Aviation-Centro Electtronico, which was renamed Alenia S.p.A. in 2000, serving in various engineering, design and managerial positions.

He was appointed as a director following the recommendation of the company's nominating committee.

"The appointment of Aldo Zanvercelli complements the company's commitment to a diverse board of directors with broad educational and professional backgrounds -- qualities particularly important to a global organization operating within the alternative fuel systems industry where economic, political and environmental considerations are market drivers. We are gratified that Aldo has agreed to serve on the company's board and look forward to benefiting from his expertise and counsel," said Mariano Costamagna, president and chief executive officer of Fuel Systems Solutions.

As announced last week, stockholders at the company's annual meeting approved a corporate reorganization, with the establishment of a holding company and a name change to Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc. from IMPCO Technologies. The company commenced trading on Friday, August 25 under a new Nasdaq symbol, FSYS.

Zanvercelli currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Ramal Holding S.A., a submarine research organization based in Luxembourg. He also serves as a president and advisor for two community organizations in Turin, as well as a member of the Turin chapter of Rotary International. He earned a degree in electronic engineering from Politecnico di Torino.
