TASER Device Prevents Stabbing

According to news reports from the United Kingdom's Telegraph, a 15-year-old girl was taken into police custody last night after threatening to kill a man with a knife at a local gas station. Police responded to calls around 7:20 p.m. of a girl holding a kitchen knife to the throat of a man as he lay on the floor of the station in Whalley Banks, Blackburn, Lancashire. Officers attempted to negotiate with the teenager but the situation soon escalated as she indicated she was prepared to stab the victim. Police then used a TASER device to disarm the girl and take her into custody.

The male victim was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The young female remains in police custody and is to be questioned today.
