(Nasdaq:NETM), a software company that provides solutions for integrating, Web enabling and accessing enterprise information systems, today announced that Aviva Italia, part of the world's sixth-largest insurance group, has deployed NetManage OnWeb(r) to create Web applications that securely streamline access to CICS-based business data, enabling partners to reference and quote policies using real-time integrated services. With the easy-to-use Web-based interface and information system, Aviva's partners, including banks and agencies throughout Europe, can easily and more accurately execute policy transactions to improve efficiency and customer service.
Aviva's partners, such as Unicredit Banca in Italy, had to navigate Aviva Italia's CICS (mainframe) applications in a batch processing system to locate life policy information. Policy data was uploaded nightly at Aviva Italia and the new policy information was then downloaded to partners. Therefore, Aviva Italia and its end users were not always working with the most up-to-date information for all policies. Unicredit Banca had to replicate and maintain the same Aviva Italia applications and data environment, which resulted in data duplication and occasional errors. Partners also had difficulty accessing and reprinting existing documents, such as welcome letters, renewal forms and customer correspondence letters, which were stored in different formats.
With the help of NetManage, Aviva Italia was able to create new, easy-to-use Web applications that helped partners such as Unicredit Banca support thousands of agencies by providing the tools to directly create, change and access life insurance policies in real time and automatically convert the information to a common PDF file format for easy viewing and printing.
NetManage OnWeb is a server-based software solution that enables the development and deployment of new business services by integrating existing enterprise information systems (host/legacy applications, ERPs, CRMs, SCMs and databases) and transforming them into Web services with security, speed and customization.
