NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Sept. 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nationally recognized speaker Vicki Clark will present a talk entitled, "Building the Capacity of Organizations" at the September General Membership Meeting of the Junior League of Orange County, Calif., Inc., (JLOCC). The first JLOCC General Meeting of the new fiscal year will be held at 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at the Orangewood Children's Home Gym, 401 The City Drive South, Orange. A noted speaker, consultant, and trainer, Clark is a member of the Peter F. Drucker Foundation's training team and the Corporation for National and Community Service's VISTA training collaboration group. She served in various positions with the Points of Light Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based organization which engages and mobilizes millions of volunteers who are helping to solve serious social problems in thousands of communities nationwide. As its Vice President of Community Initiatives, she was responsible for the development and implementation of the Foundation's strategy in support of local community outreach and was instrumental in developing and managing the Foundation's Connect America and Make-a-Difference Day programs.

Clark has served as trainer and consultant in a variety of national organizations and their local affiliates, including the Association of Junior Leagues International, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Prevent Child Abuse America, National CASA, National Council of LaRaza, Association for Volunteer Administration, Literacy USA, United Way of America, and the Association of African American Museums.

JLOCC will also welcome Tom Dobyns, member of the Board of Directors for Orangewood Children's Foundation, who will speak on the state of foster care in the community and the impact good relationship care has on foster kids as well as why this issue is important to the Orange County community.

JLOCC is a solely educational and charitable organization which supports the community through its collaboration with organizations that promote and support the health, safety and education of all individuals. Its efforts currently benefit the Orange County Bar Foundation, Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center, Casa Teresa Inc., Girls Inc., and YMCA of Orange County. The organization awards thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships each year. The Christmas Company, JLOCC's signature fundraiser, will be held from October 15-18, 2006 at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort.
