PLACENTIA, Calif., Sept. 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- ACE DuraFlo Systems, LLC is pleased to announce the appointment their CEO and Chief Technology Officer, Larry Gillanders, to the American Water Works Association Research Foundation (AWWARF) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sponsored Project Advisory Committee.
The objective of the research project 4033, Impact of Phosphate Corrosion Inhibitors on Cement-Based Pipes and Lining, is to determine the impact of phosphate chemicals on the formation of protective scales, lime leaching, and water quality for cement-based pipes and linings. The research should evaluate implications for lead and copper rule (LCR) optimization and corrosion control.
"This project will provide information for utilities to make informed decisions regarding the use, effectiveness, and application of corrosion inhibitor chemicals on cement-based pipes and linings," says Gillanders.
ACE DuraFlo Systems LLC is also a participant in the AWWARF/EPA sponsored project 3015, Non-Uniform Corrosion in Copper Piping.
Gillanders is a co-founder and co-developer of ACE DuraFlo's, patent pending, "in-place" pipe restoration technology which restores failing copper and encrusted galvanized piping systems, generally without the extensive demolition that accompanies a traditional plumbing re-pipe. The process involves the application of an epoxy barrier coating resulting in a restored epoxy lined plumbing system called ePIPE(tm). ACE DuraFlo offers a complete permanent solution for pinhole leaks and corrosion control for both commercial and residential plumbing systems.
