HOUSTON, Sept. 14, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- As The Ensemble Theatre begins its 2006-2007 "Encore of Excellence" season, they are announcing auditions for the new 30th anniversary season line-up which will run from Sept. 23rd through July 15th of next year. Auditions will be held Saturday, September 23rd from 12 Noon until 4 pm and Sunday, September 24th from 5-7pm at The Ensemble Theatre.
The Ensemble is also in need of several production and staff positions which are full time and part time positions. Production staff positions include: sound technicians, light technicians, carpenters, stage hands, set designers, sound designers, costume designers and lighting designers. Artistic staff positions include: education and touring coordinator, production coordinator, assistant technical director and research assistants. Also needed is a Box Office Administrator who will provide and support patron services for box office operations and will also serve as a receptionist. Customer service experience and strong computer skills are required.
Volunteers are also needed for other support functions including assistance in the office, production duties and community outreach.
The Ensemble
Founded by the late George Hawkins, The Ensemble Theatre is celebrating 30 years of uninterrupted performances during its 2006-2007 season. Each year, The Ensemble presents an annual repertoire of six critically acclaimed dramas, comedies and musicals that demonstrate the artistic ability of professional local, regional and national artists and support staff. The Ensemble is one of the largest African American professional theatre companies in the U.S. that produces its plays in-house, has a comprehensive educational outreach initiative and owns its own facility.
