NetManage Announces Enhancements to Librados Adapters Suite

Upgraded Adapters Eliminate Complexity Connecting and Integrating Enterprise Applications While Providing Path to SOA

CUPERTINO, Calif., Sept. 18, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- NetManage, Inc. (Nasdaq:NETM), a software company that provides solutions for integrating, Web enabling and accessing enterprise information systems, today announced core enhancements to its entire line of NetManage Librados Adapters. The latest version of the company's standards-based JCA and .NET adapters provide improved ease of use and enhanced security features that eliminate the complexity in connecting to various enterprise information systems (EISs), such as ERPs and CRMs, legacy applications, databases and middleware.

NetManage Librados Adapters enable organizations to rapidly create new business services by leveraging existing business processes. Today, these business processes can only be accessed by proprietary GUIs and custom interfaces, requiring business partners to adapt to the current environment and additional training for end users. By exposing these business processes via NetManage Librados Adapters, they are now able to adapt to current business needs. Librados is designed to connect and integrate into systems without requiring the user to have an in-depth knowledge of the target system. This ease-of-use feature minimizes software integration complexity and cost while expediting the time-to-market of critical integration projects. Architected for performance, scalability and support for key security standards, these adapters expose backend enterprise system functionality and data into application server, Web server or stand-alone environments in real-time. From the application server environment, Librados allows customers to easily create reusable Web services, which provides the first steps towards a service-oriented architecture (SOA).

Designed to meet the increasingly complex technical requirements of organizations' connectivity needs, significant new features of the NetManage Librados Adapters include:

Improved Ease-of-Use:

-- Business method browse capabilities allow users to find
complex business APIs with a standardized point-and-click
visual interface, allowing end users with limited
development expertise to easily navigate multiple systems
      to find specific business methods.
-- Enhanced support for Web service creation allows users to
wrap a transaction as it exists natively on any EIS and
then publish that connection as a standard Web service,
making it easy to deploy reusable components to integrate
systems into a variety of environments.

Improved Security:

-- Stronger level of encryption for each connection parameter,
including user names, passwords, server locations and
client parameters, enabling the highest level of security
for any adapter connecting to an EIS.
-- Addition of a security pass-thru, which picks up the security
credentials from the user and passes those credentials to
the EIS, allowing developers to maintain the security
features already in place while preserving auditing
      capabilities.

Improved Standards and Application Support:

-- Support for JDK and JRE versions 1.5 of the Java platform,
which gives users increased performance and scalability,
better manageability, monitoring capabilities and better
     support for key security measures.
-- Plug-in capabilities for Eclipse to allow developers to
work within the familiar Eclipse development environment.
-- Support for the latest EIS standard interfaces, ensuring
backwards and forwards compatibility with EIS systems.
-- Additional support for latest versions of Siebel, SAP and
     Oracle E-Business applications.
-- Local support for SAP to minimize the load on the server
while increasing the transaction response. This feature
is particularly valuable for customers loading bulk data
     for analysis.
