First Horizon National Corp. Earns Fourth Consecutive Spot on AARP's List of Best Employers for Workers Over 50

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 18, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- For the fourth consecutive year, First Horizon National Corp. has earned a spot on AARP's list of Best Employers for Workers Over 50. This annual list recognizes the companies whose practices and policies best address the needs of the mature worker. Some of the factors considered are: recruiting practices, training and development, health benefits and alternative work arrangements. First Horizon earned high marks for its flexible work options and the 24-hour nurse line it offers to all employees and retirees free of charge through a partnership with the Mayo Clinic.

"We're honored to be recognized once again as an employer of choice by AARP," said First Horizon Chairman and CEO Ken Glass. "First Horizon has long considered its employees to be its primary competitive advantage. Any recognition we receive for ensuring that their needs are met as they mature and grow makes me proud."

Nadine West, a 73-year-old property and casualty account representative in the corporation's insurance services division, joined First Horizon six years ago because of its stellar reputation as an employer of choice. "The people are what make First Horizon special. My clients and co-workers all love this company," said West. "That's why I made the decision to leave my previous employer at the age of 67 and come work here."

The complete list of top employers can be found in the November-December issue of AARP magazine.
