250-Unit Washington, D.C. Housing Complex Chooses ACE DuraFlo's ePIPE to Restore Water System

WASHINGTON, Sept. 27, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Using ACE DuraFlo's patent pending ePIPE(tm) process, ACE EnviroTech Inc. has undertaken the plumbing restoration of Washington, D.C.'s Idaho Terrace Apartments. The 250-unit complex was experiencing low water flow and leaks in the potable water system.

ACE EnviroTech is using ePIPE, ACE DuraFlo's unique, "in-place" pipe restoration technology to restore the complex's encrusted galvanized potable piping system. The process involved air-drying of the pipes, burst sanding and the application of an epoxy barrier coating resulting in a restored, epoxy-lined, plumbing system.

According to company officials the ACE DuraFlo, ePIPE process is a complete, permanent solution for pinhole leaks and corrosion control for both commercial and residential plumbing systems.

"After developing a tenant friendly schedule for the Idaho Terrace residents, we worked to restore the galvanized risers and branch lines serving the facility, in-place, with minimal cutting into the building's walls, ceilings or floors," says Bill Cooper, President of ACE EnviroTech Inc.

Before the ACE DuraFlo process was chosen, a conventional repipe was attempted for the complex, which required cutting into the building's interior structure.

"Partway through the first phase of the repiping, management found themselves and their tenants facing a repiping nightmare," Cooper says. "Dust, mess, delays and long water outages were the order of the day. The building's primary construction of concrete and cinder block was not at all user friendly to a repipe," Cooper says. "I'm glad we could give them an environmentally friendly solution, completely solving their water system problems with little disturbance to their tenants' daily living activity."
