First Horizon National Corp. Earns Technology Accolades From InformationWeek and Bank Systems and Technology Magazines

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- First Horizon National Corp.'s technology group has earned double national recognition for innovation. The group earned its fourth consecutive spot on the InformationWeek 500, which recognizes innovative technology, and the group's leader, Patrick Ruckh, is featured on the cover of Bank Systems and Technology, which highlights Ruckh and five other chief information officers as Banking's Most Innovative CIOs 2006.

The InformationWeek honor spotlights the power of innovation in information technology. First Horizon earned the recognition with a project that has provided measurable improvements in service delivery to customers, partners and investors in areas as varied as the fulfillment of customer sales requests, mortgage delivery and servicing operations, and regulatory and compliance controls. By combining technology and the latest methods with collaboration among business groups, solution delivery times were reduced by up to 40 percent.

Ruckh's interview in Bank Systems and Technology focuses on his leadership style and his group's successes. "The technology is cool and fun," he is quoted as saying. "But where I get my kicks is seeing people grow and provide better service to our customers. You want to enable high-performing people to succeed and make the company successful." The magazine highlights First Horizon's national leadership role in remote deposit capture, which was made possible by Check 21 legislation that allows images of checks to be exchanged electronically in place of paper checks.

The First Horizon recognition appears in the September issue of Bank Systems and Technology and the Sept. 12 edition of InformationWeek. More information is available at www.banktech.com and www.informationweek.com.
