CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- British Airways today celebrates the launch of its Calgary to London service, beginning December 1, with an introductory sale fare.
Roundtrip economy class airfares begin at $529 between Calgary and London. Sale prices are available through Wednesday midnight (EDT), October 11, 2006 with travel valid from December 1, 2006, through March 8, 2007, excluding December 17-23, 2006.
Hotels in central London begin at $59 per night and include full English breakfast, VAT and tax. Other special rates are available at the following London hotels: Royal National, Premier Travel Inn Gatwick, Premier Travel Inn Heathrow, Central Park, Jury's Inn Chelsea, Holiday Inn Regents Park, Kensington Close, St. Giles and Paddington Court.
Flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in both directions. Eastbound, BA102 will depart Calgary International Airport at 8:40 p.m. and arrive at London Heathrow at 12:15 p.m. the following day. Westbound, BA103 will leave Heathrow at 2:55 p.m. and arrive at Calgary at 4:55 p.m. the same afternoon.
The Boeing 777 flights offer British Airways' four unique classes of service in the following configuration: 14 First, 48 Club World, 40 World Traveller Plus and 122 World Traveller seats. First and Club World feature the airline's exclusive 180-degree totally flat beds and World Traveller Plus (premium economy) features a 38-inch pitch reclining seat with its own separate cabin.
The launch of the British Airways' service will provide passengers with more choice of travel to the United Kingdom and points beyond, including Frankfurt, Delhi, Johannesburg and other key destinations for business travel.
Roundtrip economy airfare is in Canadian Dollars. Weekend (Thursday-Sunday) surcharges apply at $30 each way. Fare is subject to government approval and does not include security, insurance and fuel surcharges, airport fees, Air Travellers Security Charges and taxes. Minimum stay of Saturday night is required with a maximum stay of 11 months. Other significant restrictions apply.
London hotel rates are per person per night and are valid for a maximum of two nights based on double occupancy for travel between December 1, 2006 - March 31, 2007. Rates may be higher for other room types and travel periods outside of the above.
