British Airways Puts the World On Sale

$338 Roundtrip Fares Between New York and London


NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- A 'worldwide' airfare sale, with opportunities to visit the U.K., Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, is being launched today by British Airways.

Roundtrip airfares begin at $338 between New York (JFK or Newark) and London, with sale fares available to other cities including Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Cairo, Nairobi, Dubai and Accra. Travelers also have the option to upgrade to World Traveller Plus, the airline's premium economy cabin for an additional fee.

Three star hotels in central London begin at $49 per night and include full English breakfast, VAT and taxes. They include the Royal National, London, Premier Travel Inn, Gatwick, Jury's Inn Heathrow and Premier Travel Inn, Heathrow.

Prices are available for sale through Wednesday midnight (EDT), October 11, 2006. Travel is valid from October 26, 2006, through March 25, 2007, excluding December 20-24, 2006.

Comparable airfares are available from 19 British Airways' U.S. cities to destinations around the world. Sample roundtrip fares include Boston/Barcelona starting at $501, Phoenix/Paris beginning at $595, New York/Dubai starting at $794 and Chicago/Cairo starting at $1047.

Roundtrip fares must be booked and purchased seven days in advance and are non-refundable. Fares may be higher for other travel dates, from other U.S. departure gateways and to beyond London destinations. Weekend (Thursday-Sunday) surcharge applies at $30 each way. Fares are subject to government approval and do not include government fees and taxes of approximately $110 to $149 and a $2.50 September 11 Security Fee. Minimum stay of Saturday night is required and maximum stay is 11 months. Other significant restrictions apply.

London hotel rates are per person per night and are valid for a maximum of two nights based on double occupancy for travel between November 1, 2006 - March 31, 2007, only, with all travel to be completed by March 31, 2007. Rates for additional nights, other room types and other travel periods will be higher. Hotel accommodation must be purchased with British Airways round-trip published airfare originating in the U.S.
