North Dakota School Benefits From Virco Classroom Makeover

TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 12, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The latest Classroom Makeover by Virco (AMEX:VIR) has generated an enthusiastic response at Washington Elementary School in Valley City, North Dakota. Co-sponsored by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), the Classroom Makeover program enables schools throughout America to compete for leading-edge Virco classroom furniture products.

At Washington Elementary, Principal Wayne Denault chose spacious 60" round activity tables and traditional lift-lid desks with scratch-resistant, colorfast Martest(r) hard plastic tops to complement ergonomically-contoured classroom chairs from Virco's best-selling ZUMA(r) collection.

"This Classroom Makeover occurred at a great time for us," said Wayne Denault. "We had originally targeted 2007 to begin replacing the student chairs and desks throughout our school. The new furniture we received gives us an excellent head start."

Denault added that he and his staff particularly like the lift-lid feature on the desks. He also commented that the ZUMA chairs will make a big difference in student comfort.

"These products really fit in with what we're trying to do," said Denault. "It's very exciting to get this furniture for a classroom that hasn't had new chairs and desks for at least 20 years."

Other Classroom Makeover products at Washington Elementary include an elegant ellipse-shaped teachers' desk and credenza from the Plateau(r) Office Solutions product line, a comfortably upholstered, pneumatically adjustable model 4635A teacher's chair, and a two-sided markerboard easel.

Winners of other Virco/NAESP Classroom Makeovers will be announced shortly.
