Five for Five: JetBlue Named Best U.S. Airline by Conde Nast Traveler Readers for Fifth Year in a Row

NEW YORK, Oct. 17, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq:JBLU) was named "Best Domestic Airline" for the fifth year in a row last night in the Conde Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards.

"It is truly my honor to accept this recognition on behalf of JetBlue's 11,000 crewmembers, who make the JetBlue Experience special and unique for every customer on every flight," said Tim Claydon, JetBlue's senior vice president of sales and marketing, who accepted the award last night. "Five years ago, when we were first recognized by the discerning readers of Conde Nast Traveler, we served 20 destinations with 3,700 crewmembers. Today, we serve 47 destinations with more than twice the number of crewmembers, yet we have remained true to our core promise to deliver the most value for the lowest fare. On behalf of the JetBlue team, thank you very much."

The November 2006 issue of Conde Nast Traveler celebrates the 19th annual Readers' Choice Awards. The results are derived from the largest independent poll of consumers' preferences, the Readers' Choice Survey, second in size only to the U.S. Census. With over 21,000 travelers voting this year, the lists show an even greater global variety and depth.

In the six years since its launch, JetBlue Airways has focused on creating a new airline category -- an airline that offers value, service and style. Based out of New York City, the low-cost carrier currently serves 47 destinations with up to 470 flights daily. Onboard JetBlue, customers enjoy roomy leather seats and 36 channels of free DIRECTV(r) programming (a), the most live TV available on any airline. On flights longer than two hours, a selection of first-run movies and bonus features from FOX InFlight(tm) is also available. JetBlue offers customers generous brand name snacks and beverages, including freshly brewed Dunkin' Donuts(r) coffee, and delicious wines selected by the airline's Low Fare Sommelier, Josh Wesson from Best Cellars(r). On overnight flights from the West, the airline now offers Shut-Eye Service(tm), with a comfort kit designed exclusively for JetBlue by Bliss Spa and other special amenities including a "good morning" hot towel service. With JetBlue, all seats are assigned, all travel is ticketless, all fares are one-way, and an overnight stay is never required.
