Office of Information Technology for Princeton to Deploy HipLinkXS Wireless Messaging Solution

LOS GATOS, Calif., Oct. 18, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Semotus Solutions (AMEX:DLK), an innovative leader of software solutions for enterprise mobility, today announced the company's wireless alerting solution, HipLinkXS, has been selected by the Office of Information Technology for Princeton University (OITPU). HipLinkXS will play a key role in the OITPU's network monitoring activities, sending wireless alerts to IT staff of critical network events.

As the central computing organization for Princeton, the OITPU oversees several hundred UNIX and Windows Servers that run campus websites and dozens of applications. This network is constantly monitored to assure the OITPU continues to deliver exceptional service to the University.

The OITPU's decision to adopt HipLinkXS was driven largely by the software's ability to provide a uniform web-based interface with IBM's Tivoli, the campus's network monitoring application. HipLinkXS sends "intelligent wireless transmission" of network events detected by Tivoli, and allows the OITPU to automatically send messages to on-duty staff and escalate alerts for mission-critical events.

Chuck Augustine, the OITPU's Senior Manager of Systems and Data Management Services, recalled the problems with the campus's previous messaging processes. "We were relying on an in-house TAP interface we built several years ago to send and receive pages. But large spikes in message volume often resulted in long back-ups or even a shut down in service from our carrier."

The OITPU evaluated several wireless messaging applications, and ultimately was impressed with HipLinkXS' straightforward architecture and attractive price/features ratio. But it was the outstanding service from Semotus' tech support team that put Semotus ahead.

"We had several unique requirements and right from the beginning Semotus' tech team was consistently responsive - quite different from what you often experience when dealing with some of the larger companies," Mr. Augustine noted. "Semotus addresses your issues right away, rather than force you to wade through several layers of tech support. That gave us a great deal of confidence to move forward with HipLinkXS."

"Semotus is delighted to add the Office of Information Technology for Princeton University to our growing roster of world class customers. The OITPU is known for maintaining one of the strictest sets of IT standards in the arena of higher education, and in fact, their input throughout the evaluation of HipLinkXS brought out the best in our own technical team by challenging them to further enhance the functionality of our solution," stated Pamela LaPine, Semotus' president.

LaPine continued, "The sales process actually became a technology partnership, as the OITPU's rigorous requirements have contributed greatly to the ongoing evolution of HipLinkXS. We look forward to continued work with this esteemed IT organization."

HipLinkXS is a powerful, state-of-the-art messaging solution that enables delivery of critical messages and can fully integrate with any enterprise application. Built on best-of-breed technology and incorporating advanced features, HipLinkXS ensures message delivery across multiple devices and through a variety of communication protocols.
