About Cary Vance: Beginning his career in 1985, Cary Vance started working at the legendary record shop, Vinyl Mania, located on Carmine Street in New York City. Vinyl Mania was the record store where all of the "major" DJs shopped: Little Louie Vega, Scott Blackwell, Cole & Clivilles and Larry Levan, to name a few. In 1986, Vinyl Mania started a record label and Cary promoted all of their early releases. It was there that Cary met Todd Terry and put out one of his first releases, the Freestyle classic, "Why You Wanna Go" by Fascination.

In late 1987 Cary moved on to Virgin Records as their head of Dance Promotion. During his 4+ years at the label, he helped to create the plans that established artists such as Paula Abdul, Lenny Kravitz, Inner City, Soul II Soul & Nenah Cherry. While at Virgin Records, Cary co-executive produced the Platinum plus selling LP, SHUT UP AND DANCE, by Paula Abdul. While at Virgin Records, Cary also gave an upcoming DJ/Producer his first remix: he was Chris Cox.

In 1991, Cary decided to start his own promotion & marketing company. A few of his early successes included the Night Crawlers "Push The Feeling On" and Chaka Demus & Pliers "Murder She Wrote."

In 1992, Cary decided to team up with Issy Sanchez (who at the time had his own promotion & marketing company) to form Elite Promotions. After having success with many records including Captain Hollywood "More and More" and 95S "Whoot There It Is," Cary yearned to be back at a label.

In 1994, Profile Records hired Cary as their head of promotion. Run DMC, DJ Quik, Second II None and N2Deep were among the many R&B leaning acts Cary was involved with. On the dance side, 2 Bad Mice "Bombscare" and the Mighty Dub Cats "Magic Carpet Ride" were among his successes.

In 1996, Cary moved over to become the head of promotion for Robbins Entertainment. After helping the label gain success with hit singles from Rockell "I Fell In Love" & Crush "Jellyhead," Cary was presented with the opportunity to return to Virgin Records.

In 1997, Cary returned to Virgin Records where he rose to the position of VP of Promotion for the label. Among the many artists Cary helped to establish, or re-establish were The Spice Girls, Janet Jackson, Tina Turner, Lenny Kravitz, Aaliyah, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Mariah Carey, Shaggy, Daft Punk, Melanie C, Fatboy Slim & The Basement Jaxx.

Among the many accomplishments Cary had at Virgin were helping to make "Try Again" by Aaliyah the first ever Airplay Only single to go No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Building the plan for Janet's "All For You" that made it the first single ever to have every R&R Reporting Mainstream Top 40, Rhythm Top 40 and R&B Radio Station in the country add it in its first week of release. Cary also won the International Dance Music Awards In-House Promoter of the Year Award for 2001.

In 2002 Cary left Virgin Records and went on to join the team at Promo Only as their head of promotions for Promo Only Promotions. Among the numerous artists that Promo Only Promotions has been involved with are Kylie Minogue, Dannii Minogue, Daniel Bedingfield, Lasgo, BT, Paul Van Dyk, Donna Summer, The Roc Project & Angel City.
