Metrostyle Gets the Skinny With a Hot New Leggings Collection Right Off the Women's Clothing Fashion Runways

BOSTON, Oct. 20, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Redcats USA, a multi-channel leader in men's and women's clothing and lifestyles home shopping, has a new brand name stepping into the women's fashion spotlight. metrostyle(tm), formerly Lerner(r) Catalog, once trailing women's clothing designers, now gets a leg-up on the competition with a hot new web-only leggings collection for women.

The new metrostyle(tm) online-only leggings collection was launched on October 16 and reflects the recent love affair fashion editors are having with the 80's trends of skinny leggings, opaque tights and skinny jeans, taking it into the future with modern metallic ballet flats, slouchy leather boots, glittery striped tops, and a play on volume with blouson tunics turning up skinny leggings. The web-only leggings include classic stretch leggings, allover lace leggings, lace hemmed leggings and to go with everyone's favorite pumps, stirrup leggings!

metrostyle(tm) -- Satisfying American Women's Cravings For Fast Fashion

In a yearlong brand transition metrostyle(tm) and metrostyle.com have emerged out of the old names Lerner(r) and LernerCatalog.com as leading women's clothing shopping destinations for fashionable, trend-setting women across America while still offering customers the career and casual wear in misses, petite and tall sizes for which Lerner(r) is famous.

With a Flash animated home page and email campaign highlighting the hottest looks in women's clothing for fall in conjunction with fashion week in NY, metrostyle.com surpassed the old Lernercatalog.com to take on the "fast" women's fashion industry. Highlighted in the daily emails (9/11-9/15) and Home Page, women's fashion trends of note were: Royal Treatment (velvet and velour), Rank & File (military-inspired looks), Western Romance (a favorite with ruffles and fringe) and, of course, Legwork, capturing the hot skinny leggings trend sticking it out through the winter.

With hot new fashion events happening at metrostyle(tm), favorite Lerner(r) women's clothes from the catalog such as leather, denim, pants, skirts and dresses are still very much a part of the metrostyle(tm) collections -- and clearance, sale events and best buys aren't going anywhere. As Redcats USA's licensing agreement for the Lerner(r) Catalog name was coming to an end, the company seized the opportunity to own the name metrostyle(tm), a name that the Lerner(r) Catalog customer recognizes and trusts as an already established brand within the Lerner(r) Catalog.

"We want to assure our customers that even though the Lerner(r) name is changing, we are very committed to offering style and quality at our famous low prices," said Christophe Gaigneux, Executive Vice President of the Boston Apparel Group, which includes the brands Chadwick's, Jessica London and La Redoute, as well as metrostyle(tm). Lerner(r) Catalog is not going away, it is simply evolving to metrostyle(tm). Our customers are a top priority and we have strategically planned this transition so that it will be seamless to them."

The transition to metrostyle(tm) will continue for the remainder of 2006. Beginning in January 2007, Redcats USA will use the metrostyle(tm) name exclusively. In addition, a fresh new look in their first Spring '07 metrostyle(tm) catalog will be introduced to customers along with a special "shopping spree" gift card to jumpstart their new spring style.
