New Book From Xlibris Offers Provocative Discussion of Sexuality -- Sexuality Expert Dr. Barnaby B. Barratt Shows Why Erotic Freedom and Pleasure Are Essential to Human Welfare

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Oct. 27, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- An educational look at human sexuality and the freedom of eroticism is about to begin as Xlibris proudly releases author Barnaby B. Barratt's Sexual Health and Erotic Freedom, the captivating new book that will leave you amazed!

Sexual Health and Erotic Freedom is a written celebration of the glories of human sexuality which emphasizes that sexual freedom is not only every individual's birthright but is also an essential ingredient of the health and welfare of our society. Daringly, this book discusses the sources of our sexual unhappiness and exposes the oppression that characterizes American culture today, not only on the social level, but also deeply within the psychology of each individual. Sexual Health and Erotic Freedom argues that genuinely healthy sexuality requires that we enjoy erotic freedom, and it suggests ways in which each of us may become freer sexually.

The work is divided into five parts. Firstly, a critique of the sexually oppressive aspects of our culture supported with a definition of truer sexual health. Secondly, a psychological analysis showing why sexuality is so frightening and conflicting in our culture today. Thirdly, a celebration of the many varieties of sexuality that people enjoy. Fourthly, a self-help guide to help readers heal their sexual wounds, how to raise sexually healthy children and how to communicate with their partners. And finally, a detailed explanation as to how it is that sexuality is always an essentially spiritual matter.

Richly-layered and smart, Sexual Health and Erotic Freedom makes a trailblazing argument that sexual freedom is essential for the physical, emotional and spiritual health of every living person. Its portrayal of the qualities of sexuality is well-defined and smoothly connects with current issues concerning our culture and human welfare. This book will significantly impact the life of any educated reader interested in his or her sexual health and happiness. It will also be of special interest to mental health professionals, therapists, sexologists, psychologists, sociologists and philosophers. To order a copy of Barnaby B.
