Saxo Bank Hires Maersk's Michael V. Moeller as Head Lawyer


GENTOFTE, Denmark, Oct. 30, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Effective December 1, Saxo Bank names A.P. Moeller-Maersk VP Michael Villi Moeller as its new Global Head of Legal and Compliance.

Michael Villi Moeller comes to Saxo Bank from a position as Vice President of A.P. Moeller-Maersk's liner shipping business, Maersk Line, where he headed the Corporate Affairs department.

A graduate of Copenhagen University School of Law, Moeller, 46, has been a member of the Danish bar for the past 16 years, and was admitted to the Danish High Court in 1992. At A.P. Moeller-Maersk he was involved in international business transactions including joint ventures, M&A and litigation and arbitration. Moeller also served on a number of A.P. Moeller-Maersk group company boards in Europe, Asia and elsewhere.

At Saxo Bank, Moeller will superintend all legal matters relating to Danish and international authorities, compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, and the setup of new international worldwide branches in accordance with applicable legal standards and practices. He will also handle the bank's dealings with clients and partners, and supervise ISDA-related queries and all other legal and compliance issues for Saxo Bank in Denmark and abroad.
