BALTIMORE, Nov. 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Timothy J. Winter as vice president of market development for the company's Electronic Systems sector.

In this newly created position, Winter will be responsible for developing and implementing the sector's strategic campaign and capture strategies. The market development organization integrates several functions into a focused, full-service capability that provides the resources and expertise necessary to help the Electronic Systems sector win major programs.
Winter joined the company in 1981 in Baltimore and has held a number of technical and management assignments in systems development, technology research, program management, marketing and strategic planning. Throughout his 25-year career, he has been involved with such programs and products as the Joint Strike Fighter radar, naval surface ship radar, missile defense systems, electric vehicles and power systems, weapons, computer and signal processing, and Future Combat Systems. He most recently served as director of naval and missile defense.
Winter earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech and a master's degree in business administration from Loyola College in Baltimore. He has also completed the Executive Marketing program at University of California, Los Angeles.
