Lee Memorial Licenses Mediware Blood Management Products for Donor and Transfusion Services

Lee Memorial Health System Licenses Mediware's HCLL Transfusion and LifeTrak Blood Management Software Products


LENEXA, Kan., Nov. 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Mediware Information Systems (Nasdaq:MEDW) announced that Lee Memorial Health System, a community-owned healthcare system comprised of four medical facilities in Florida, licensed Mediware's HCLL(tm) Transfusion and LifeTrak(r) Blood Management software products for its southwest Florida area facilities. Lee Memorial Health System is governed by a publicly elected board of directors whose members oversee every aspect of its operation. The four facilities included in this license agreement include:


 -- Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. is 367-bed acute care
    facility providing services throughout Lee County and its
    surrounding communities. Like the other providers of Lee Memorial
    Health System, Lee Memorial Hospital has been recognized as one
    of the 100 Top Hospitals, specifically for strokes, orthopedics
    and intensive care.

 -- HealthPark Medical Center in Fort Myers, Fla. recently expanded
    its operations to 360 beds. The medical center has received
    recognition as a 100 Top Hospitals for cardiology and intensive
    care.

 -- The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, also located in
    Fort Myers, Fla., is a pediatric specialty hospital that was
    established in 1992 to meet the growing needs of southwest
    Florida. It is the only comprehensive child healthcare facility
    between Tampa and Miami.

 -- Cape Coral Hospital, situated in Cape Coral, Fla., is an acute
    care facility that has grown from 94 beds to its present operation
    of 281 beds. Cape Coral Hospital has the area's largest emergency
    department and is recognized by the 100 Top Hospitals for
    orthopedic care.

The product provides comprehensive donor identification, donor eligibility, collections data tracking system, marketing, campaign, and drive analysis. It is used to manage and process controls from the recruitment of blood donors to the ultimate delivery of blood products to health care facilities.
