Aventine Increases Terminal Capacity in Anticipation of Missouri Mandate

PEKIN, Ill., Nov. 9, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AVR), a leading producer, marketer and end-to-end supplier of ethanol, today announced the addition of 4 new ethanol storage facilities in the State of Missouri.

The 4 new terminals bring to 6 the number of storage terminals Aventine has in the state of Missouri. The addition of the new terminals provides Aventine with significant capacity addition in anticipation of the mandated use of ethanol in Missouri beginning in January 1, 2008.

Ron Miller, President and CEO of Aventine, said "Beginning in 2008, Missourians will be required to use a 10% ethanol blend in all gasoline sold within the state. The addition of these new terminals assures our Missouri customers that the ethanol they require will be available locally within their state. We continue to expand our distribution footprint across the U.S. This distribution infrastructure is what differentiates us from our competitors."
