TASER Wins Summary Judgment in Gosserand Wrongful Death Litigation

Case is the 27th Product Liability Suit Against Company Dismissed

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Nov. 10, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq:TASR), a market leader in advanced electronic control devices, announced that the United States District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana granted TASER International's motion for summary judgment in the product liability lawsuit filed by Dardenella Gosserand against TASER International, Inc. This is the twenty-seventh wrongful death or injury lawsuit that has been dismissed or judgment entered in favor of TASER International.

In granting the motion for summary judgment, the court found, "The plaintiffs fail to even remotely establish that TASER International's product damaged Gosserand, which is a material element for liability. Accordingly, TASER International's motion for summary judgment is GRANTED. The plaintiff's claims against TASER International are hereby dismissed."

"Our legal team delivered a grand slam this week, with four consecutive cases being dismissed, including the unanimous jury verdict in the Alvarado trial," commented Rick Smith, Chief Executive Officer of TASER International, Inc. "Alvarado was the second case where we settled with our own insurance carrier in order to avoid settlement with the plaintiff. We view this strategy as key to our long-term deterrence of frivolous suits against the company. Plaintiff lawyers across this country are coming to understand that TASER International will vigorously defend these cases bringing world-class experts to bear, and doing what it takes to defend these cases through aggressive pre-trial motions as well as through trial when needed. TASER International will not be a profitable target for plaintiff attorneys looking for cost-of-defense settlements. Period," concluded Smith.
