NEW YORK, Nov. 14, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- British Airways today launched "London for Free," one of British Airways' unique and most popular leisure promotions in the U.S.
'London for Free' offers travelers two nights' free hotel accommodation in London when purchasing roundtrip airfares between the U.S. and the UK, Europe, Africa and India.
Roundtrip airfares begin at $338 between New York (JFK or Newark) and London, with sale fares available to other cities including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Nairobi, Bombay and Delhi. Travelers also have the option to upgrade to World Traveller Plus, the airline's premium economy cabin.
Prices are available for sale through Tuesday midnight (EST), Nov. 21, 2006. Travel is valid from Nov. 21, 2006, through Mar. 25, 2007, excluding Dec. 20-24, 2006. India airfares are valid from Nov. 21, 2006, through Mar. 27, 2007, excluding Dec. 11-24, 2006.
Comparable airfares are available from all 19 British Airways' U.S. cities to destinations around the world. Sample roundtrip fares include Philadelphia/Cairo starting at $1025, Chicago/Delhi beginning at $1255, San Francisco/Rome starting at $632 and Washington/Nairobi starting at $1109.
Passengers also may upgrade to the premier economy World Traveller Plus cabin, beginning from $796 roundtrip from New York to London. World Traveller Plus offers seven inches of extra legroom and a wider, more comfortable seat in a separate cabin aboard longhaul wide-body B747 and B777 aircraft.
Centrally located London hotels participating in "London for Free" include the Royal National, Best Western Paddington Court, Corus Hyde Park, Jury's Inn Chelsea, Central Park, Phoenix, Kensington International, Comfort Inn Kensington, Marriott Maida Vale, Park Inn Hyde Park, Thistle Barbican, and Thistle Victoria. The two free hotel nights are based on double occupancy; single occupants are offered one free hotel night.
World Traveller roundtrip fares must be booked and purchased seven days in advance and are non-refundable. World Traveller Plus roundtrip fares must be booked and purchased 21 days in advance. Fares may be higher for other travel dates, from other U.S. departure gateways and to beyond London destinations. Weekend (Thursday-Sunday) surcharge applies at $30 each way. Fares are subject to government approval and do not include government fees and taxes of approximately $110 to $149 and a $2.50 September 11 Security Fee. Minimum stay of Saturday night is required and maximum stay is 11 months. Other significant restrictions apply.
Free London hotel offer valid for a maximum of two nights based on double occupancy for travel between Nov. 1, 2006 - May 31, 2007, only, with all travel to be completed by May 31, 2007. Rates for additional nights, other room types and other travel periods will be higher. Hotel accommodation must be booked and purchased with British Airways round-trip published airfare originating in the U.S. during the promotional period.
