WHERE: Logan International Airport Public area, Terminal B Press parking available in the Terminal A lot WHEN: Friday, November 17th, 2006 10:50 a.m. WHY: Eustaquio Juarez was deported on September 8 by ICE in violation of a stay of deportation and a federal court order reopening his case on August 29. Juarez is the father of three young United States children. Juarez's case has brought an immediate human face to the current controversy over mass deportations. United States citizen Duarnis Perez recently received national attention when a federal judge ruled that his deportation from the U.S. had been a serious government mistake. Juarez's case also closely resembles that of a Turkish mother of three who was accidentally deported from the U.K. in September despite a court order staying her deportation. Boston attorney Jeff Ross has spent several months in negotiations with Homeland Security in order to resolve this situation, which is believed to be unprecedented in the media. Eustaquio's emotional reunion with his family just before Thanksgiving will give the Juarez family abundant reasons to give thanks this holiday season.
