TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers Presents Playin' the Hand Poker Tournament With 10-Time World Series of Poker Winner Phil Hellmuth

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Nov. 17, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- TASER Foundation for Fallen in association with the Fort McDowell Casino in Arizona announced the 2nd Annual Playin' the Hand Poker Tournament hosted by 10-time World Series of Poker(r) winner Phil Hellmuth on December 9, 2006.

"We are thrilled to bring Phil Hellmuth back for our second annual poker fundraiser," said Gerry Anderson, TASER Foundation Executive Director. "Phil Hellmuth is a huge draw and anyone who watches the World Series of Poker knows that he brings his A-game to play. We couldn't be happier to provide such a unique opportunity for the community to support the families of fallen officers who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty as 100% of the net proceeds go directly to the families."

"This year we are offering a full complement of a variety of options for general buy-ins, high roller and VIP levels for playing in the tournament or becoming a corporate sponsor. Our High Roller and VIP entry levels will provide celebrity treatment as we raise money and awareness for the families of fallen officers," concluded Anderson.

As a charitable organization, the TASER Foundation is proud of the financial contributions that we have been able to provide law enforcement families. Please help us continue our efforts by either playing or becoming a corporate sponsor of our "Playin' the Hand" poker tournament by visiting www.TASERFoundation.org.

Letters of Thanks from Families We Support

"Thank you again for the gift that was sent. It was truly a blessing for me and my family. The money was used to pay bills and supplement my husband's income. Also, it was of great importance after finding out after my husband's funeral that I was expecting our second child. I feel so blessed to know that I can find strength to continue on through the support I've received from your organization and the little miracle I've been given."

Brindle Darden, Norfolk, VA

"We thank you so much for helping another 'brother' take care of his family. Your gift meant more than you will ever know, because it took away worry when I was drowning in worry."

Ashley Marie Boyd, Comanche, TX

"This gift was a Godsend. There was a delay in the processing of my husband's life insurance, and the TASER Foundation gift allowed me to keep the car and house payments current. The grant money also allowed me to start a savings account for the kids' college fund."

Amy Ricks, Turpins, OK

About the TASER Foundation

The TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers was established in November 2004. The TASER Foundation's mission is to honor the service and sacrifice of local and federal law enforcement officers in the United States and Canada lost in the line of duty by providing financial support to their families. The Foundation has distributed $1,100,000 to over 300 families in the United States and Canada. It is the only organization that provides benefits to families in the United States and Canada from federal, state/province, county, and local law enforcement organizations. In addition, its program fills the gap between an officer's death and when pensions and other benefits begin. In most cases a grant request is processed within 24 hours of receipt.
