A Stocking Stuffer Idea to Die For

2007 Men of Mortuaries Calendar Already a Hot Seasonal Gift Item

LONG BEACH, Calif., Nov. 28, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Whoopi Goldberg proclaimed it as a "must have" this holiday season. Gene Shalit counted it as one of his "top choices for gift giving season." The New York Post deemed it as one of its "top 10 picks" and USA Weekend sized it up as one of this season's "wackiest" gift ideas. The 2007 Men of Mortuaries Calendar is creating an international stir for its provocative subject matter in which hunks from funeral homes across the nation pose in settings relating to their profession. Proceeds from the $15 calendar benefit those undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

"Our phones have been lighting up like a Christmas tree - no pun intended - with requests that the calendar arrive in time for the holidays," said Long Beach, Calif. funeral home owner Ken McKenzie. "Because of its unique theme, relatively conservative content and the fact that it raises money for those in need make it the perfect stocking stuffer this holiday season."

McKenzie launched the calendar as a fundraising vehicle for the nonprofit organization he founded in honor of his sister. Its goal is to put money in the pockets of women with breast cancer so that they can continue the everyday activities (e.g., going to the movies, dining out, etc.) that are sometimes compromised as families on limited incomes are forced to cover added expenses associated with the disease.
