ABILENE, Kan., Nov. 30, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Duckwall-ALCO Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq:DUCK) today announced that its sales from continuing operations for the four weeks ended November 26, 2006 (fiscal month of November) increased approximately 7.3% to $39.8 million compared to $37.1 million in the prior-year month, and same-store sales increased 4.7% compared to 3.5% in the same period last year.
Sales year-to-date increased approximately 10.3% to $378.9 million compared to $343.6 million in the prior year, and same-store sales increased 6.4% compared to 2.6% in the prior year.
The Company also announced that it opened its 188th ALCO store earlier this month in Pilot Point, Texas.
