Newsman Rachlin to Head Corporate Communications At Saxo Bank

Danish News Anchor and Correspondent Samuel Rachlin Will Join Saxo Bank as Executive Director of Corporate Communications On January 1, 2007


GENTOFTE, Denmark, Dec. 6, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Saxo Bank co-CEO's Lars Seier Christensen and Kim Fournais announce the appointment of seasoned Danish foreign affairs and business journalist Samuel Rachlin to a newly created position as the bank's Executive Director of Corporate Communications.

One of Denmark's most recognizable on-air personalities, Rachlin comes to Saxo Bank from Danish TV2, where he has served as the network's first anchorman for the evening news. He subsequently became the station's first Washington correspondent. Rachlin served as spokesman and media advisor at the Washington D.C. headquarters of the World Bank from 1995-1998 before returning to TV2 as the network's Moscow correspondent. In addition to his lengthy roster of television credits, Rachlin has worked broadly as a financial and foreign affairs columnist for business daily Boersen, national daily Jyllands-Posten, Danish weekly Mandag Morgen, and as foreign editor of Boersens Nyhedsmagasin.

A graduate of Copenhagen University and the Columbia University School of Journalism, Rachlin is also a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University.

At Saxo Bank, Samuel Rachlin will lead the formation and guidance of strategic messaging and public relations with external media partners, and will further develop the bank's internal communication function.
