New Picture Book From Xlibris Features a Story About a Traveling Snail Discovering the World and Its Inhabitants

ARLINGTON, Mass., Dec. 6, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Life is beautiful but it is also complicated as every living thing is unique from one another. All creatures are responsible for learning, understanding and working in order to live up to life's challenges. These are some of the themes that readers will identify as Xlibris releases The Journey of a Snail, a new illustrated storybook about nature and its creatures written by Virginia Thayer.

The Journey of a Snail tells the story of a snail who grows tired of carrying his house on his back. On one fateful day, he decides to travel over the world to see how other snails live. To his surprise, a great variety of them exist. But one sight worries him: a chef cooking snails for a meal. Soon enough, the snail decides to keep moving on until he encounters an eagle which sparks his curiosity. At first the snail thinks that the eagle's life is ideal until he learns that all they do is fly, hunt and fish, that turns him off. Now that life is harder than expected, where will the snail go and what will he do next? Only time can tell.
