ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif., Dec. 12, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a non-profit organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, was selected to be one of the Orange County (OC) Marathon's 2007 beneficiaries.
Canyon Acres was selected to be a beneficiary of The OC Marathon 2007, a nonprofit organization benefiting Orange County's Children's charities. Funds raised by the marathon will go to Canyon Acres and other Orange County Children's Charities.
Canyon Acres' Team Wraparound will also be participating at the event to raise funds for all Canyon Acres programs. The Wraparound Services program of Canyon Acres aims to re-connect families with their children and their communities, giving families the tools they need to build long-term support teams within their families and neighborhoods. The Wraparound program is one of many programs Canyon Acres operates to give severely abused and neglected children the homes, care, treatment and support systems they need.

The OC Marathon will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday January 7, 2007 for the Marathon and Half Marathon at the Newport Center adjacent to Fashion Island on San Miguel Drive. The OC Marathon's Kid's one mile run will commence at 9:00 a.m. and will be held at the Greater Irvine Spectrum Center.
