NetManage Named to IT Week Magazine's Top 50 Technology Innovators in 2006

NetManage Driving Momentum in 2006 With Significant Product Releases, Incremental SOA Vision and Key Customer Wins

CUPERTINO, Calif., Dec. 18, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- NetManage, Inc. (Nasdaq:NETM), a software company that provides solutions for integrating, Web enabling and accessing enterprise information systems, today announced it has been named to IT Week's annual Top 50 Technology Innovators list for the second consecutive year.

Ken Durham, editor of IT Week magazine, stressed that it was very hard to select the 50 winners with so many great products out there, but "in the end it boiled down to the products which went above and beyond the call of duty sort of speak. We at IT Week are very happy for the opportunity to be able to recognize these products for their technology, value and excellence."

In 2006, NetManage continued to innovate with a number of significant new product offerings and upgrades, including:

  * NetManage SOA Planner, the only server product that
non-invasively listens to user interactions with the host
system to capture common usage patterns needed to make
    quantifiable SOA planning decisions.

  * NetManage OnWeb for CICS, a powerful and scalable software
solution that transforms existing CICS (Customer Information
Control System) data into standard XML for integration with
other enterprise information systems or SOA initiatives.

  * NetManage OnWeb for iSeries, now with flexible and powerful
    HTML publishing capabilities.

The company also announced an "Incremental SOA" strategy, a flexible four-step process designed to help organizations take a phased, lower-risk approach to creating a SOA. Enterprises can easily participate in any or all phases of the plan, build, evolve and scale process to optimize their SOA deployment according to their needs while leveraging prior investments.

NetManage secured business from a number of customers in 2006, including Bell South, U.S. Department of Justice, Kraft Foods, City of Philadelphia, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Adobe Systems, Universal Music Group, State of Vermont, General Electric, and Fox Cable Networks among others. While NetManage RUMBA remains the most trusted and recognized brand for host access, the company also enjoyed a number of key customer wins for its Web-based technology, OnWeb, reporting 23 new customers in the third quarter of 2006.

"It is an honor to be singled out as a leading technology innovator for the second year in a row. This award further validates NetManage's strong position in the market," said Zvi Alon, chairman, president and CEO of NetManage. "NetManage's mission is to provide real-world integration solutions while innovating to help our customers plan for long-term growth in cutting edge technology areas, such as service-oriented architecture. Combined with the company's strong cash position and corporate strategy, we are well positioned for growth and profitability in 2007."

IT Week's annual Top 50 Technology Innovators list is compiled by the editors from feedback from readers and independent research and recognizes vendors of products and services for IT Professionals who are the top in their field. These awards are given out to companies whose products IT Week's editors feel demonstrate quality and excellence in their respective fields making them the best.
