Northrop Grumman to Support Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center for U.S. Transportation Command


MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 2, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been selected by the U.S. Transportation Command to help establish a Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center that will integrate analytic capabilities across the organization and support joint operations.

Under the terms of the contract, Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will perform distribution performance analysis; design and implementation of a knowledge management capability; organizational design; supply chain risk and threat analysis; skills alignment and a training plan; and governance structure support.

"Our work and expertise on this contract will allow the U.S. Transportation Command to perform key functions and processes more quickly and effectively."

The mission of the Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center is to support joint operations among the U.S. Transportation Command, the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, the Air Mobility Command, and the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command's Transportation Engineering Agency. The center will advance operations, programmatic study support and transformation and leverage analytic expertise from Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise partners.

The contract is valued at $8.8 million over one year with two one-year options. The majority of the work on the contract will be conducted at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
