DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 3, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Eno River Labs creates new company, GORBEC Pharmaceutical Services, to Eno River Labs, a Research Triangle Park based analytical laboratory, has separated the company into two independent divisions. The first division will maintain the company's current name and operate as Eno River Labs. Eno River Labs will focus on environmental testing services which has historically been the core business of the company. The new division will be named GORBEC Pharmaceutical Services and will provide analytical and development services to the biopharmaceutical industry.
Eno River Labs was recently acquired by area businessman Mike Gorman. Gorman has substantial experience in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing and sees an opportunity for GORBEC to service the growing, complex analytical services component of the pharmaceutical industry. The number of new drug compounds expected to be researched over the next several years is tremendous. The RTP area of North Carolina has been a hotbed for much of the new development work. GORBEC intends to emerge as a leader in analytical testing and formulation development services for the researchers in this area as well as in other areas across the country.
Eno River and GORBEC plan to expand both segments of the business by focusing on their core business philosophy of good science driven by smart business.
