Latvijas Gāze 09.01.2007 Gas tariffs might increase by 42%-45% In January 2007, the JSC “Latvijas Gāze” will prepare a new tariff project and submit it to the Public Utility Commission. It is expected that increase of tariffs might be approximately 42%-45%. Submission of a new tariff project is due to the agreement signed by the JSC “Latvijas Gāze” and the OJSC “Gazprom” on natural gas supply price for the year 2007, which envisages growth of purchase price by approximately 50% at the current heavy fuel oil prices. The growth of purchase price is due to the increased price of oil and heavy fuel oil in recent years, as well as the wish of the OJSC “Gazprom” to make a gradual transition to a supply price compliant with the global market.
