LEMCON WINS NOTABLE TUNNEL BUILDING CONTRACT IN SWEDEN

Lemcon Ltd of the Lemminkäinen Group has been awarded a tunnel
construction contract worth EUR 43 million in Sweden. The new
railway tunnel will be built on a section of track that is being
upgraded between Härnösand and Veda and forms part of the
Ådalsbana line that runs along the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia.

The Ådalsbana line connects to the Botniabana line, on which
Lemcon has constructed a number of tunnels in recent years. This
latest tunnel will be 3.5 kilometres long. Work will start in
January 2007 and the tunnel will be completed at the end of 2009.
The client is Banverket Central Region.

Lemcon has been operating continuously on the Swedish tunnel
construction market since 1994. Prior to this contract, the
company has built eleven railway tunnels in the country.

- This new project is a natural extension of the work that we have
done with our Swedish railway partners. The contract further
strengthens Lemcon’s position as a Scandinavian tunnel builder,
says the Managing Director of Lemcon Ltd, Mr. Matti A. Mantere.
