Gunnebo Spain installs one of the largest robotised safe deposit locker ever Gunnebo Spain has got an order from Spanish Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA ) to install one of the largest robotised safe deposit locker - SafeStore Auto - ever produced in the Group with over 2,500 lockers. Order value is some 800,000€. The installation is planned to be finalized on March 31st 2007. The order is worth some 800,000€, and is part a of an integrated security solution, from the building of the strong room to its control and protection through CCTV, access control, electronic security and surveillance. - BBVA was considering the possibility of gathering the Safe Deposit Lockers (SDL) of several offices into larger but fewer installations, exposing security reasons. The bank considered that having SDL's in fewer offices and at the same time increase the security in those offices will give less risk in the end, says Angel Diaz, Key Account Manager for BBVA Gunnebo Spain. The fact that a robot eliminates the risk of armed robberies helped to gain interest in the automated solution. Prestige and innovation were also differentiating attributes for an exclusive installation. The original intention was not to have a unique solution, but the idea of having control over the whole system from one place made it more interesting, and the reduced dimensions of a robot made it possible. - Additionally, this is an interesting initiative that, if everything goes as planned, can turn into many installations, since the intention of the entity is to centralize SDL in most regions through the installation of SafeStore Auto, starting with a similar installation for 2007 in main cities of Spain, says Jordi Riart, Business Line Manager Bank Gunnebo Spain.
