LAS VEGAS, Jan. 10, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- CES -- Hitron Technology, (Taiwan:H.T.): and Entropic Communications, Inc. have collaborated on a new triple-play broadband gateway for distribution of digital entertainment. Available to cable service providers, this home networking gateway also supports carrier-grade triple play services such as multiple HDTV streams, VoIP channels and service level agreement (SLA) data with guaranteed end to end quality of service (QoS) and net throughput.
The Hitron gateway, based on Entropic's c.LINK-270(tm), is available with fully integrated 3rd-party software stack supporting industry standard installations, remote management and extensive diagnostic tools. This field-tested gateway comes with an ADSL2/2+ modem supporting 802.11x and multimedia home networks running over existing coax. A four-port 10/100 Fast Ethernet switch with WAN fail-safe mechanism, USB 2.0 host interface support for NAS application, IPSec engine, and integrated optional VoIP round out this gateway.
Entropic's c.LINK connects the Hitron gateway directly to the consumer's coaxial cabling, where it delivers more than 100 Mbps net throughput of video throughout the home.
