Microsemi Forms New Business Group, Expands Corporate Management Team

Promotes Steven G. Litchfield to Executive VP and Group President of New High Performance Analog Mixed Signal Group


IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 10, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq:MSCC), a leading manufacturer of high performance analog and mixed signal integrated circuits and high reliability semiconductors, announced today that it has promoted Steven G. Litchfield to Executive Vice President and Group President of the newly-formed High Performance Analog Mixed Signal Group.

Effective immediately, Mr. Litchfield will be responsible for all of Microsemi's existing high performance analog mixed signal business as well as for the product lines added with Microsemi's acquisition of PowerDsine Ltd.

Litchfield, who joined Microsemi in 2001, has been serving as corporate vice president of marketing and business development. In this role he was instrumental in the company's acquisition of PowerDsine, an Israeli pioneer in Power over Ethernet technology. He is an engineering graduate of Purdue University and received his MBA from the University of Southern California.
