AS KALEV STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 10/11.01.2007 Kalev’s sales of candy packages during Christmas period reach 376,000 In the Christmas period from October to December AS Kalev Chocolate Factory sold more than 200 tons of packages of candy, which is 12% more compared to 2005. In the last few months of 2006, AS Kalev Chocolate Factory sold more than 200 tons, comprising some 380,000 Christmas packages of different sizes and compositions. Compared to the same period in 2005, that is 12% or over 200,000 kg more. According to member of the management board of Kalev Chocolate Factory Alar Pink, like in years past, consumers preferred medium and large Kalev candy packages from a weight of 450 grams and up. The candy packages with the greatest amount of sales success this year were Jõulutuutu, Jõulusokk and Jõulukast. Pink said that value added developed specially for Kalev products met with very positive consumer feedback. The most popular items were a Christmas book by Leelo Tungla and a trivia game. With each year the sales of candy packages specially targeted at adults has steadily increased. Kalev's 2006 Christmas product portfolio was comprised of 49 products with a special Christmas design. Total sales of Christmas confections in 2006 was 464 tons, of which candy packages accounted for 44%, chocolates 28%, gingerbread cookies 18% and boxes of candy 10%. As to other product groups, the greatest increase in the final months of 2006 was seen in 300 gram and 20 gram chocolates. White chocolate with puffed rice and blueberry pieces was sold the most. Created in 2006, AS Kalev Chocolate Factory is a subsidiary in the AS Kalev group. The subsidiary’s main activity is the production of chocolate confectionery and sugar confectionery products and sales of chocolate, sugar and flour confectionery products.
