Scania: Major order to Scania from leading logistics company

Major order to Scania from leading logistics company Scania has received an order of 151 tractor units from Disfrimur, one of Spain's largest logistics companies. The deal also includes such services as financing and repair and maintenance contract. Workshop services boosting uptime and fuel-efficient trucks with engines that meet Euro 4 emission standards using exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) technology were crucial to the choice of truck make. "To be allowed to supply trucks to Disfrimur, it is necessary to fulfil the same high level of punctuality, flexibility and efficiency as the company offers its customers," says Norberto Alonso, who is in charge of Scania's fleet sales in Spain. Disfrimur is among the leading companies in the Spanish transport sector and specialises in delivering perishable goods to grocery chains. It is a growing company dedicated to optimising its customers' delivery chain by assuming responsibility for goods logistics and shipments. The company also has a strong position when it comes to road safety awareness and environmental concerns. All 151 trucks now being delivered are equipped with Scania's 480 hp straight six-cylinder engine, which meets Euro 4 standards without aftertreatment based on EGR technology. Exhaust gases are cleaned without additives, making handling easier for both drivers and haulage firms since they need only fill up the tank with diesel fuel. After this delivery, 60 percent of the Disfrimur fleet of more than 500 trucks now consists of Scania trucks.
